Washington DC

Brian, Jacob, Cassie and I just got back from Washington DC. We went with the Safford High School Choir. There were 28 high school students and 7 chaperones. We had a great time. I was a little stressed a time or two with my typical worries that someone would be lost from the group or something, but the kids did wonderful. There were very little squabbles and the were very respectful and had a great experience. Here are all the students with their choir director in front of the visitor center at Arlington Cemetery.

They experienced The Wall, The Lincoln Memorial, The Washington Memorial, The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier & The Changing of the Guard, The Capital Building, Smithsonian Museums, The Metro, The White House, Mount Vernon (George Washington's Homestead) The Washington DC Temple, some fabulous Restaurants, some fun "hotel with your friends" experience, Cherry Blossoms and much more.

While they were there, the students also participated in a Music Festival. They recieved a Silver Medal for their performance but also recieved the "Spirit" Award for the event. We were so proud of them!
